The numbers may have stayed a bit higher had it stayed on Mondays- moving it to Saturdays showed it didn't have the support. A guy who was a CBS executive at the time said the time slot change didn't do the show in (it's true, that the ratings had dipped before the move to Saturdays in February 1981- rather, he said the Flo character just didn't work as well outside of Alice, or something to that effect.

When they moved it to saturdays in March of 1981 they was clearly done with the show and already knew it would be cancelled so at that point it didnt even matter lol CBS was probably saving mondays for another new show that started in midseason

I wonder if the long Summer hiatus after only six episodes hurt Flo. If it would have been better to finish out the 79-80 campaign on Alice, have Flo leave in the finale, and start fresh with a full season of episodes in Fall 1980.

I dont think it would have mattered. This show was awful. I think it would have failed even if it aired after Alice
