I remember watching a segment of a show about her and randomly decided to google her. I can't find the case being showcased on UM but I am almost certain it was. I watched a lot of true crime as a teen so I could be wrong. Whatever show it was it did a good job of making me think she was guilty. Only when I decided to read up on the case did I realize she might have been innocent all along.
Anyone familiar with this case? She was convicted of two life sentences for killing her ex-boyfriend's new wife Joann and baby Alex. Apparently the motive was the fact she called her ex and his new wife cursed her out and told her to stop calling. Apparently she broke into the home kidnapped the wife and baby and left them both dead in a field. She was a new mother herself and engaged to be married. She also lived 500 miles away and denied being in the same state or ever having met the two people she killed. DNA evidence which was new at the time confirmed that blonde hair that was found on the wife's dead body as well as her car belonged to Patricia. Andy who was the husband was the initial suspect but police quickly zeroed in on Patricia. Patricia has been trying for close to 30 years to be exonerated and it seems she is very close to possibly being vindicated of this crime. A new article as fresh as yesterday says that her potential release in in limbo due to judge changes. There was a judge who believed she is innocent and was intent on freeing her. This makes me wonder what Andy Katrinak has been up to. It seems he lives in Colorado now. I am ordering the book about this case on Amazon by Tammy Mal who began writing the book believing Patricia was guilty but soon realized Patricia had been railroaded. If Andy indeed got away with murder and was able to frame his ex WOW. Sorry if this wasn't a UM segment and I don't mean to derail or be off topic. |

Definitely Forensic Files. I think she is guilty and where she belongs.

It was never featured on UM, but it has been documented on other true crime shows. They include: Forensic Files (“A Woman Scorned”), Autopsy (“A Fatal Attraction”), On the Case with Paula Zahn (“Driven to Kill”), and The FBI Files (“Family Secrets”).
