Default Anybody else not a fan of Drew Carey with Price is Right?

To me, he never quite fit the show...
Mumbles his words and doesn't really seem to have the spirit..
Just kind of seems like a teenager trying to fit in with the "in-crowd"...sometimes, forgets how games are played and makes it up as he goes.

Not everybody can be Bob Barker, I get that...but this guy isn't even close, imo. He's very popular because let's face it, he looks funny and the show has a good format. Carey is not that good and I'm waiting for his replacement.

I am not a watcher of the show, but I saw some clips on YouTube and was remarkable how thin Drew Carey has become. Doesn't look like Drew Carey I knew, paunchy, working class looking, beer drinking guy of old, and has been replaced with this suntanned, thin, old California hipster guy.

I completely agree with your assessment.

I like Drew Carey, mainly because he is much nicer to the staff and models than what Bob Barker ever was.

I like Drew; he's very amiable while B.B. was rather cranky...IMO it was time for a change.

I've never seen a full episode of TPIR since Carey took over as host, and that has been what, almost 10 years I guess. I've seen bits and pieces, and I agree, he does not strike me as a game show host. He is not a warm, inviting and welcoming personality. He sort of strikes me as the "freaK' or "weirdo" that sits next to you on the bus and you get up to move away from. I think it is the glasses....who wears those dorky things anyway?

I bet old Bob Barker is "fuming" TPIR is still on. I bet he thought the show would end without him.

In my opinion he ruined the show.....

When he started they changed the music, its not as loud as it was....... I think someone told me they made it stereo when it used to be mono...

WHY?? IT WAS FINE BEING MONO!!!

I dont like stuff going downhill and the ppl behind it think its so good

I think he is a very amiable and competent Emcee. The contestants love getting up on the stage and Drew does all he can to make them comfortable, give them a little time to "show off" for their support group, and he is enthusiastic about the games, the environment of the studio and respects the legacy of the show.

When he first started he played around a lot, bringing the Improv-type stuff (I haven't seen Kathy Kinney or any other guest in over a decade!) and laughing off mistakes and gaffes that come from settling in.

The format of the show is much tighter of late, partly from Drew growing into the role of genial host and less comedy, and part is that the show's timing has to be ultra-tight due to commercials. Really! There isn't any time to cut up and have that relaxed, Bob Barker-style interaction/conversation with contestants. They barely even describe the products in detail anymore-- they just run a quick slide show and say the product name. Its all, "Go-go-go!"

Bob was a better on camera host. But behind the scenes Drew is probably a much better person, I haven't heard about Drew being hateful towards employees and treating them like crap.
