Mental illness is not funny, but this was funny,
I still laugh at this one every time.

Yes, this scene is an inside joke with a friend of mine who's not even an UM fan. Another friend used to say, "What, are you 5 years old?" about other things, so I sent him this clip and we've been laughing about it for years.

The way the kid runs away is just as wonderful.

It's interesting how a show that tackles murder, missing persons, and some of the darkest parts of humanity can also deliver unintentional comedy gold. One reason why this show is timeless.

It's so true I still quote the show all the time or think about memorable lines.

"I didn't say Moses, you liar!!!" (Obviously, Tony Alamo isn't a funny figure but that reenactment was just GOLD).

"She's got cancer of the stomach...or something" (Josephine White co-scammer who couldn't even come up with a solid sob story lol)

Not to mention all of the zingers Robert Stack got to say such as "Corpulent Conman" "Con Juan" etc.

I can't even really explain why it's so funny. I guess it's the combination of the way Jim's brother says his line and the actor playing Jim intone a piece of dialogue as sophisticated as, "No, I'm four. Get out of my face, you idiot" with this rather rich, smooth baritone voice.

So I watched the Amy Billig story a few weeks back, and just rewatched it. Nearly the entire bar scene is hysterical.

-When Amy's mother enters, her narration says, "there were people at the bar, drinking, drunk and everything." Really, they were drunk? Wow, you don't say? I mean, come on, what was she expecting, a convent?

-The spot where the stool magically hits the fallout sign on the wall, after which the sign falls down; priceless!

-Amy's mother yelling "AMY!" followed by the biker hitting the top of the cab, then putting his finger up and the cab drives away.

The whole disappearance of Amy Billig is tragic, but this is truly an unintentionally funny segment.

Yes, all of these factors! Another thing that I've always considered in why it's so wonderful is how they made Jim's response so cheesily G-rated, when you can hear the F bombs going off in your head when picturing what was actually said!

Nice to see you posting a bit more!

It has a certain Napoleon Dynamite quality to it.

Rewatched the story about Chucky McGivern — he had a dream while near death about a bunch of Asian kids giving him Christmas presents.

In the Jaclyn Dowaliby segment it looks like the police officer is trying not to laugh when he says "We think we've found Jaclyn. She's dead".

And then the painfully bad fake crying by the actress playing Jaclyn's mom. It might be some of the worst on UM.

Not just the fact it's a "kid" in New Hampshire (they must've cast Danny the way 90210 cast "teenagers" around the same time) wearing that cap but the fact someone actually had one to wear during the reenactment in the late 80's/early 90's was incredibly random.

Awesome (as a fan of vintage sports stuff like this), but random .
