Have you ever been watching a show and were so into it that when a to be continued popped up it left you breathlessly waiting till next week?

If we are talking about sitcoms, 2-parters go all the way back as early as The Dick Van Dyke Show. Personally, I cant stand it when sitcoms use this gimmick.

You see a lot of it with series finales that are broken up into multiple episodes.

I don’t remember the words popping up onscreen on The DVD Show but that could be faulty memory on my part.

I Love Lucy also used 2-parters as well but the words “to be continued” never flashed on the screen. Their first one was “Tennessee Ernie Visits/“Tennessee Ernie Hangs On”
