Default What are some great tasting hot cereals as an alternative to Cream Of Wheat?

My father loves Cream Of Wheat and Quaker Instant Oatmeal and I would love to know if there is any other hot cereals that my dad can try that are alternatives to Cream Of Wheat?

Malt O'Meal is still being made today? Because I have never EVER seen it in supermarkets and the only Malt O'Meal I know is the bagged cereals that they have. Have they improved the taste of Malt O'Meal or is it the same? Because my mother used to eat it sometimes as a kid growing up and she disliked it
Thank you very much for your recommendation

Does Quaker still make those instant grits that came in a packet and all you added was water and mixed it and then you had grits? I saw a vintage commercial for it and it sounded like something my father would enjoy

Yes, as far as I know Malt O Meal is still made, about 5 years ago I had a house guest and he really liked it, and we would buy it when we went shopping.

And yes I buy instant grits quite a bit. I usually mix it with milk, add butter, sugar, and sometimes maple syrup is good!

Another hot cereal that my dad and I really loved but it has become so difficult to find now is McCann's Irish Oatmeal and it is really great tasting with a flavor of it's own. Have you also heard of a hot cereal named Wheatena? Because I saw a commercial for it and I wonder if would be a hot cereal Dad would like?

I've not heard of that one. I'd not even heard of Malt O Meal until my friend came to stay with me lol

I usually alternate between oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, and grits

I used to make mush occasionally, but it's really very similar to cream of wheat to me
