Production on "Euphoria" Season 3 to Start in January 2025 with Main Cast Returning

The chances of "Euphoria" airing its third season next year have increased after HBO revealed that the youth-skewing drama is set to enter production in January.

Deadline reported in March that filming plans for the Sam Levinson-created series had been pushed back with Levinson still working on scripts. Filming will now start at the top of next year with all of the principle cast returning.

Also, expect a time jump between the second and third seasons.

HBO and Max content chairman Casey Bloys said regarding "Euphoria's" delayed third season, “We are shooting the season, I have read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving ahead.

I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they’re working on. But we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”

HBO Drama Boss Promises Fans Satisfying Third & Likely Final Season of "Euphoria"

HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi on Monday said that she planned to visit the set for the first time this Wednesday.

“I wanted to give them their first week to themselves to settle in. They have beautifully,” she said during an interview with Deadline about HBO’s upcoming drama slate at "The White Lotus" premiere. “I talked to Sam this morning at like, 6:30 in the morning on his way to set. Everyone’s so happy to be back, and I’m relieved we’re finally here.”



Season 3 is fully expected to be the final installment whose cast has blown up and have big feature careers, including stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and recurring player Colman Domingo, who are all back.

“We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end,” Orsi said.



If indeed this is the last installment, fans will be happy with it.

“I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative,” Orsi said.

Sydney Sweeney says Euphoria Season 3 is even more "unhinged"

"I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear," Sweeney told Empire magazine. "She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love." Sweeney added: "It could be a sad version of love, as well. It’s so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is. (Creator Sam Levinson) is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, 'Let’s go crazier.' And he’s like, 'I’m all in.' And this season is unhinged." Asked if Season 3 is "More unhinged?," Sweeney replied with a laugh, "Yes."
