Sesame Street Aired on Commercial Stations Too - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In the early days of Sesame Street, the show also aired on commercial stations as well as PBS channels. In New York, Sesame Street aired for a year on WPIX-TV at 9 AM and later on PBS station WNET. Other commercial stations I remember airing Sesame Street include the following:

Rochester/Austin/Mason /city: KGLO (now KIMT)
Sioux City: KCAU
Walker, MN: KNMT (Then a satellite of Alexandria station KCMT)
Rockford, IL: WREX

Feel free to post other commercial stations that aired Sesame Street.

The now defunct Noggin aired it as the network was a joint venture between Nickelodeon and Sesame Workshop.

I found out that before my current PBS station (WGCU Fort Myers, Florida) launched, the show aired on my CBS station (WINK TV).

I remember seeing "Sesame Street" on ABC affiliate KOLO in Reno when we went to Lake Tahoe on vacation in the late-70s.

I only liked SS on PBS cause they didnt interupt it with stupid commercials!
