Found the season 5 eps with Chrissy phone scenes even the one with Jack

Although not seen or heard, she calls Janet just as Janet is about to go after Larry and Jack. Janet pulls a Chrissy herself when she hangs up on her, then picks it back up to say goodbye.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4qJOjoJWuQ

Janet and Chrissy discuss Jack's job and Chrissy's mother.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwsksSYs_zQ

At two thirty a.m., Chrissy calls Janet about a bad dream.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ixREQSdMrg

Chrissy calls collect to talk to Jack, but Janet answers instead.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEDrS869JTw

Chrissy calls Jack and says she has wonderful news for him in a letter. Jack suggests that while they're on the phone that she tell him. She agrees, says she's going to stop her father from mailing it, and hangs up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdRoROOzIVM

Chrissy calls Janet and they discuss the near fake wedding of Cindy and Winston. Confused, Chrissy gets mad that her own cousin gets married and doesn't even invite her.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6jvMHjGJzA

Episode in Like Larry-never seen this phone tag before with Chrissy. Chrissy calls and asked to speak to Pauley Kelly lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBR7v_kzjQo

Last Phone scene of that season........Chrissy's last phone call, and probably the best. Janet tells Chrissy about how they thought that Cindy was pregnant, and how Jack proposed and then finding out that Kelly was pregnant. Just as Janet feels that Chrissy got the picture, Chrissy tries a playback, twisting up Janet's words.

Thanks TVFactFan for loading those Chrissy tag scenes, haven't seen those in 44 or so years. I counted a total of 7, with 6 being tag scenes. Interstingly enough the call in scene when Jack tags bus boy job is in the middle of episode, and that I have never seen shown on cable or these streaming services.
Anyway it took the sting out of Duke's tank and choke job the other night.

Thanks for posting these. The one where Chrissy calls collect is still played on Antenna TV or Logo because I still see it sometimes.
Suzanne was never communicating with the cast during these tag scenes. She would record them off set in a trailer. The cast would then pretend they were talking to Chrissy when being filmed.

Yeah I know. I do find it odd they never had Chrissy ask how her cousin Cindy is doing lol

ha ha, that's a good point

These were not good time for Suzanne. She would often cry and have to pull herself together to do these scenes they forced her to do.

It was a form of punishment. She was fired but before she was fired they engaged in humiliating her. They would not let her on the set and made her film these tag scenes. They made Chrissy look like an idiot.

I am ok with firing her but they could have made her come back for 1 or 2 episodes explaining she was moving out or something or do no tag scenes. The tag scenes were bad for her and bad for the show. It just was a form of punishment and humiliation.
Suzanne actually apologized and wanted to go back to the show with her original contract. ABC executives and the producers would not even talk to her.

Because they had to hire someone else. They wasnt letting her comeback after that

If u watched back in 1981, viewers probably knew once cindy moved in Suzanne wasnt coming back.

I was watching in 1980 and you learned in the news and magazines what was happening to the show. Everyone was told Suzanne walked off about a contract dispute and she was fired. Everyone knew she was gone for good so these tag scenes made no sense except to punish her. She's on the show yet not really. She has no real interaction with the cast and she phones in at the end. Today that ABC executive has said they did it to explain Chrissy's absence. But it fooled no one.
I see this as one of those things that 2 things can be true at the same time. Suzanne should have never faked illness to protest her contract and sort of walk off the show and kept the show in limbo. She could have negotiated when it was up.
Having said that, it was true she was the biggest ABC star and the lowest paid compared to other network's male stars. It was a changing time because women were always paid less.
What really irked ABC was Suzanne in talks with other networks about creating shows around a Chrissy character after Threes Company was over.
Suzanne had a crazy husband that pushed way too hard. Suzanne was wrong with the way she handled it not showing up on set. ABC was also wrong not for firing her but the humiliation punishment they put her through with those tag scenes.

I would pay $500 for her full episode on Phil Donahue discussing how she was treated during season 5
