Ran across this by accident. It's a feature about the missing original titles and credits on the Mintz/Columbia cartoons. Just like with Warners, they didn't recognize the value in preserving the original cartoon, and glibly cut into the master negatives, adding the reissue title. The most interesting item is the list of 26 cartoons that are MIA, and either are totally gone or have only certain elements surviving (sometimes, just a 16mm b/w print of a color cartoon). I thought Warner was bad, but at least all the cartoons exist.

Wondering why the Blu-ray set doesn't include the 7 Droopy CinemaScope cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera? With the Droopy cartoons included, it could have been a complete collection in one set

Greg Ford on “Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters”

One of the better 80's Looney Tunes movie short compilations. You can watch the Duxorcist and Night Of The Living Duck in regular rotation on Toon in With ME and METV's Saturday Morning cartoons.

https://cartoonresearch.com/index.ph...candid-camera/

"Picture Perfect: The 85th Anniversary of “Elmer’s Candid Camera”"

"Mel Blanc provides the voice for the rabbit, who would be a prototype for Bugs. However, the voice Blanc provides sounds nothing like the familiar Bugs Bunny voice, but it is closer to Woody Woodpecker. Blanc had been providing Woody’s voice at this time, and in Elmer’s Candid Camera, the rabbit sounds like the famous Woodpecker and seems to break out into a version of Woody’s trademark laugh."

This has to be a painstaking process. Anyone who's seen some of the reconstructions done on Golden Collections knows how these look. The missing color elements are in black and white, meaning they will be colorizing them. Then they will have to be seamlessly integrated with the remaining color elements.

And it appears they are doing it all, even the Post commercial animation, which would all be missing in color.

As George mentioned, the cartoons themselves are accessible in color, but what he didn't mention was that's not a slam-dunk. In some cases the cartoons were slightly altered; for example, Bugs' "Frigid Hare" reference to a back to work date was updated slightly for The Bugs Bunny Show. At least Jerry would know things like that--but will it be perfect? Time will tell--but I'm appreciative of their efforts.

Another unanswered question: how will these episodes be made available? Through MeTV Toons only, or via home video as well? Sounds like we'll see in a year or two, but logic tells me it would be going to home video, since old Post commercials would not be shown on TV.
