I Never Knew Hal Linden Missed an Episode

I had assumed he was in every single episode like Max Gail. But even Hal missed part two of the Wojo's Girl two parter from season 5. Part two only had Wojo and his girlfriend in a backdoor pilot for a new spin-off. I can see why that failed, they had no chemistry and Wojo was even more of a jerk at home. The dullest episode of Barney Miller I have seen, won't bother watching part 2 again (part 1 could still be worth it with Doris Roberts guest starring).

I've wondered if Shelley Long was supposed to be the girl in that - she had been doing some work for ABC and the character kind of looks and sounds like her. The actress who played the role - Darlene Parks - has just a short list of imdb credits.
