Default Season 5. First you are a tadpole

Mike is dressed in some military uniform. I am not the best at which branch wears which colors and it's in black and white, so I am not sure who he signed up with.

Where is he going for the week? Did he join as a reserve like Robbie will later in the show?

Was being in the military a thing back then? What benefit would he get by joining while in college?

Thanks.

Air Force Reserves.

I'll take a look at the episode (Dec. 1964, Season 5, ep. 12) and comment further.

Trivia: In this episode, among Mike's air force comrades, watch for Mike Minor, son of M3S producer Don Fedderson -- and well-known to Petticoat Junction fans as Steve Elliott on that series.

I remember seeing Mike Minor in season 2 or 3 as one of Mike's fraternity brothers. It could be the same character as I have not seen season 5.

Wow. Okay, was he a full brother to the guy Cissy dated on family affair? I think his character was named Greg.

Yes, he and Gregg were full brothers; "Minor" was a name he used that was his mom's maiden name. Sadly, Gregg died from cancer at a fairly young age:

Mike Minor 1940 - 2016
Gregg Fedderson 1948 - 2002 (age 53; outlived by a couple of years or so by his mom)

I'm not familiar with Mike's season 2 or 3 M3S appearances, but when Rob & Katie get their apartment in Season 11, he plays a resident who introduces himself there.

In addition to his deep masculine voice, on a former Petticoat Junction website, he was known by observers to have an exceptionally attractive "backside...!"

Poor Gregg. I didn't know he used his name in the show. I'll have to go check out the bum.
