I have never been a big fan of this band, but I really do like this song. |

I like Journey, they seem to be a talented band.
I prefer the Steve Perry Years though.... |

Mickey - I LOVE Journey and that song. I like both the Rollie and Cain eras of Journey equally. Both brought their own special flair to keyboards (especially Gregg Rollie's famous Hammond B-3 organ) and were both proficient in background vocals (I especially love the songs where Perry and Rollie shared the lead vocals, like "Feeling That Way/Anytime" and one of my favorite Journey songs, period, "Just the Same Way"). Plus, Jonathan Cain wrote or co-wrote Journey's best ballads ("Open Arms", "Send Her My Love", "Faithfully" and "When You Love a Woman"). That said, NO ONE can replecate Steve Perry. To me, he is to Journey what Dick York was to Bewitched - never fully appreciated until he wasn't around anymore.

Mickey, here is a video of "Who's Crying Now" - live in Houston, 1981. It's an awesome performance.

"Who's Crying Now" is one of my biggest Journey pleasures, and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it LOL! I used to sing "Wheel in the Sky" to my youngest as a lullaby....
I like the comparison of Steve Perry to Dick York! I miss him terribly, but one of my favorite Journey albums is actually "Generations", which used every member of the band as lead singer except the drummer, and I think included 2 or 3 of the guys they recruited after Steve was gone. See my signature, location, and the phrase under my screenname. The song "Butterfly" from that album is going to be played at my funeral! And "Faith in the Heartland" is what I have played in the car on the way to every high school football game we have attended since I bought it (both my kids have been in the marching band). It could have been written about our rural community and it just gets me pumped up LOL! Just my two cents, though--I REALLY don't like the guy they have as lead singer now! |

For me, my biggest guilty pleasure is the Shania Twain song "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" (And yes, I am a man, okay?)
I have never been a big fan of her (except for "Rock This Country" and "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under"), but I really enjoy this song. |

Now I'll admit I like Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper. Particularly the video. It's just a fun 80s song.
