Why is Sitcoms Online taking so long to load the message boards tonight?

I've noticed today that the boards are taking a long time to load up and I'm wondering if there was something happening tonight that is causing this?

I told Todd last night im getting slow downs again,time outs,you name it!!

He doesnt seem to care and its horribly sad... He mine as well take the site down if he doesnt care to make it better.

If he would unblock HTTP it would help some.. (A little bit)

There is no blasted reason on earth to force SSL on a site like this...

People who do just blindely believe the lies/fear mongering and its sad..

There must have been a ton of bots online at 3 AM last night. There couldn't have been many humans online at that hour.

There's not much more which can be done other than blocking their IP addresses. It can only handle so many connections. It's running well now.

I was briefly on around the time Hawkee made this thread, it was slow as molasses but only in the 300 range then. Strange, a lot faster now with over 2700 users online.

I noticed in approximately the 5 am hour there were over (I think this was yesterday or the day before) 6,000 non-members logged in, and no more than 4 members. I looked at all that since the response time was so bad. It's hard to believe there would be that many search engines needing info. You'd have to think some of them were malicious.

One other time I looked at what they were searching. Lots of legit searches, but some searches of archives. Of what use would that be?

ITS NOT MY COMPUTER..........

WHY IS THIS THE ONLY SITE THATS SLOW?

Even if I go on the mac there is a 10 second delay when other sites are instant! (Even HTTPS sites)

This has been a major problem here since Todd moved us to a cheaper plan........

Hawkee, I'm truly sorry it was so slow for you the other night. I know it must have been very slow because you wouldn't have made the thread otherwise. Sometimes it might be your connection. I think it was just overloaded with an unsually high amount of bots. I will continue to block them as I see them.

I'm sure it was just a temporary and isolated issue. Hopefully it has run better for you the past few nights.
