I believe he did live there based on how he was dressed

I'm from NYC. No one in their right mind would do something like this, regardless of whether they were from NYC or anywhere else. It's fun and games to speculate about stuff like this on a forum. Anything else--especially looking up real estate information to track down who owned the house, lived there all these years, etc.--is a sign of some kind of disorder or other issues, IMO.

It would have been a nice bonus feature on the complete series DVD about who he was and what he is doing now

I think I heard it was just someone walking down the street and he tried to get out of the way of the filming crew.

It reminds of, ppl also wonder who the angry looking woman is in the Mary Tyler Moore intro when Mary throws her hat in the air, there's a woman in the background who looks at her with a scowl on her face lol

Red shorts guy should be as famous as the scowling woman, Hazel Frederick. He was the only person visible in the closing credits. He was shown every week in one of the most iconic television series in history. I don't think they ever changed the visuals.

I think it looks more realistic with people being on the sidewalk, so maybe it was good the guy was there.

I wonder if he's still living

On Saturday I was watching All in the family on Catchy Comedy . I finally saw the guy in the red shorts . I can honestly say I never noticed him before. I was purposely on the lookout for him because of this thread . Damn, TVfactfan , you must have eyes like a hawk to have noticed him !
