The ONE Person Whom Kirk Cameron Should Meet
His name: Marjoe Gortner, born in Long Beach, California on January 14, 1944, 81 years ago next month.
Per his IMDB entry, Hugh Marjoe Ross Gortner, at age 4, was and is the world's youngest Ordained Minister, the elder of 2 boys born to Vernon Gortner, an Evangelical Minister, and Marge Gortner, both of whom pushed 4-year-old Marjoe into following Vernon into Preaching as a Pentecostal Minister; by the time he was 16, however, in 1960, Marjoe grew acutely disillusioned with what he KNEW was a horrible and terrible deception and eventually became a mainstream film and television actor, eventually appearing as a regular on TV's "Falcon Crest" during the Fall 1986 TV season. Frankly, I'd like to see just HOW a "witnessing" event between the tall, lanky, 6-foot-2, 81-year-old Marjoe Gortner and the short, 5-foot-7, 55-year-old Kirk Cameron go down; maybe Marjoe could talk some sense into ol' Kirk while empathizing a bit too well with his circumstances being the reverse Kirk. |
