Just thought I'd bring it up here that Australian television producer Reg Grundy (very widely known Down Under, of course, but also known here for having such great games of the 80s as $ale of the Century and Scrabble, has passed on at 92.
To commemorate, here's the title card from the premiere broadcast on NBC (1/3/83, my 2nd birthday) of the 1983-89 $ale of the Century revival w/Jim Perry. Obituary from The Sydney Morning Herald of Sydney, Australia: http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/...09-gopjet.html |

and let's not forget, he also produced other TV Game Shows such as Time Machine w/John Davidson, Scattergories w/the late TV Icon Dick Clark, Small Talk w/Wil Shriner and Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak which lasted 13 weeks on abc daytime, but became successful all over the world
God Bless You Mr. Grundy, Thanks for not only giving us $ale of the Century, SCRABBLE, Time Machine, Scattergories, Small Talk and Hot Streak, but also, Thank You for giving us hours and hours of entertainment and fun and until we see you again, Goodbye Mate R.I.P. Also, RG had an earlier form of that logo that was on $ale of the Century in early '83.

I hope BUZZR grabs the Reg Grundy Library since Fremantlemedia owns the library now also, Betty White and Judge Wapner who both appeared as celebs on Scattergories have outlived Reg Grundy as a matter of fact, during his lifetime, Reg Grundy has outlived the likes of Jim Perry (Host of $ale of the Century), Dick Clark (Host of Scattergories), Gene Wood (Announcer for Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak) and Charlie Tuna (Announcer for both versions of SCRABBLE, Time Machine and Scattergories) |
