Every time a new movie gets released Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade always seems to have a float to honor the movie and I have never figured it out? Like take for example when Disney released A Bug's Life in 1998 they had A Bug's Life float and in 1996 Disney had a float on the live-action 101 Dalmatians movie and in 1994 The Swan Princess had a float as well and when the Austin Powers sequel debuted there was an Austin Powers float too in the 2000 parade with the late Verne Troyer featured in it. And all it tells me is that Macy's uses these floats as a way to market new movies. As we saw with Wonka last year I hope they are gonna have a Wicked based float in this year's parade
When did Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade begin doing this fad? |
