Question How did they explain Tiffany's (Rose's daughter) disapperance

I mean on-screen:
Quote:
"In 1985, Goodwin was cast as Tiffany Holloway on the NBC television series, 227 as a series regular during the show's first season. Goodwin was dropped from the series after the first season, as writers found little to do with her character. The character was still mentioned as existing as late as season 3."

Kia Goodwin - Wikipedia
With that being said, they didn't exactly pull a "Chuck Cunningham/Judy Winslow". Did 227 simply write Tiffany off as visiting family? And she was presumably, too young for college.

Most likely, she probably was explained as living with her father. She was not missed, lol. I thought it was odd that she was dropped but then Alexandria was added in Season 4. I would have settled for her being a cameo here and there. There were also rumors (not confirmed nor validated) that her parents also had her pulled from the show given that they felt she was not being utilized and stated she could be focused on other projects. Well, those other projects never manifested, lol. Also, remember What's Happening tried to pretend Mabel was still around in Season 3 with having mama at work, sleep, at the store, etc but we all knew she was gone. They worked it well as mama was not a character who would leave her daughter to Shirley and ride off into the sunset.

She left the show because her mother hated having to hang around the set with her baby sister. Marla said they never addressed her disappearance from the show - https://interviews.televisionacademy...nterview-clips

Tiffany's father was dead.

Furthermore, Kia Goodwin was from the East Coast and she and her mother really hated living in LA without the rest of their family. So she was released from her 227 contract at her request basically. At least, that's what Marla Gibbs said in her Television Academy interview.

That could be the reason and the fact that she’s a well adjusted adult means nothing ‘foul’ went on like with the Family Matters ‘situation’!
