I would if there was any tangible evidence that Adams, who was a lifelong resident of Surrey, BC had any ties up north to Alaska, the Toronto area, etc. Philip's car was found roughly 8 and a half hours from where Blair Adams lived. All of Adams's family, friends, acquaintances (with the exception being a German girlfriend from when he went to work construction in Germany in 1995) were in the Vancouver area. He cannot be placed elsewhere.

Possible, it could explain why he wanted to trade the car for a plane ticket to Seattle. but also would have needed to show docs when crossing from AK to Yukon so I wonder if anyone investigated all of the border crossings in and around that time.

Possible, but the only way I can see that happening, is if he had been picked up in Alaska, and crossed into Canada as a passenger. Another issue is the gun he had. Phillip was forced to surrender his guns to customs. Unless the gun was well hidden, the hitchhiker would have certainly had to do the same.

I think the whole statement about the "plane ticket to Seattle" was made, as he was continuing to pretend he was Phillip. |

What just struck me, and I hadn't thought about before. Let's say the murderer mentions the car sale for a plane ticket, and instead of insisting on waiting for customs, the Olsons accept on the spot. So they get Philip's car, and the next move for tne murderer is...to somehow get to the airport with sparse belongings, fly to Seattle, and then? Granted he may not have been entirely rational when attempting to make the sale. |

sometimes Canadians and Americans can be confused for another, but often times you can tell a striking difference in someone's dialect if they are from the lower 48. I will say Alaska is one of the strangest places I've ever been to regarding the interactions I had with some people. I often found that they were never from there to begin with. they somehow make their way up there and end up staying. It is a beautiful state. |

The PF case is unique among many of the "True Crime" cases out there because we have a good idea of what happened here & who committed this heinous crime. I.e., the perp. was almost certainly the guy who got in PF's car @ the diner & who later stayed with the older couple (while claiming he was PF).
However, we don't know the actual identity of the perp and/or the specific details re: what exactly occurred. Unfortunately, this case clearly illustrates why you should be extremely careful who you let into your car, especially if you're alone. There have been a handful of times over the years when strangers have wanted rides from me, and I've refused. I don't care how big/tough/accomplished you are (or think you are), if someone gets into your car as a passenger & has bad intentions, they can easily overpower you and/or force you to take them somewhere - with or without a weapon. This especially holds true when you're driving/don't have your hands free & are obviously needing to pay attention to the road, etc. - to avoid an accident. It's fairly clear that something like this happened to PF, and it was compounded by the fact that he was driving the perp. through a remote area (where others couldn't see what was happening). As has been discussed, based on the eye-witness account(s) of the diner/gas station owner & her daughter - PF initially didn't want to give the stranger/perp. a ride. But, soon after, when he was driving past him - PF may have slowed down & the perp. may have just somewhat forced his way into the car. And, once he was in the car - I suspect that PF was either too polite or too scared to tell the guy to leave. Very sad case. |

No, I don't believe the perp. that killed PF was BA. The PF crime occurred in 1988. And, prior to BA's death in Summer 1996, he was a successful businessman/contractor who apparently had some kind of a break-down - not long before he died.
Also: -The picture of the PF perp. didn't resemble BA to any great extent. -By all accounts, the perp. had bad teeth. And, in one of the pics. of BA he had decent teeth. And, no - I don't think he got his teeth replaced between 1988 & whenever the pic. was taken (possibly sometime in the 1990's). https://unsolved.com/gallery/blair-adams/ So, in closing - I don't believe BA went from being a homicidal drifter in the late 1980's to a successful contractor in the 1990's. This just doesn't track. |
