I've been watching a few episodes of USA High on YouTube lately, and I've always wondered if the series would've lasted longer had it aired on NBC's venerable TNBC block on Saturday mornings instead of daily (Monday through Friday) on the USA Network.
I already knew that teen/tween sitcom maven Peter Engel (the Chuck Lorre of nineties teen/tween sitcoms) had initially pitched USA High to NBC--as a possible replacement for California Dreams (which wrapped up its five-season run in late 1996)--before being rejected by NBC and subsequently airing on USA's late afternoon schedule (alongside repeats of Saved By The Bell: The New Class) beginning in the summer of 1997, lasting two seasons and ninety-five episodes. Drop me a line sometime...I'd love to hear from all of you. Enjoy the remainder of your day, everyone! |
