Default Sitcoms Online's Official Video Game News Thread

This is the official video game news thread, anyone is welcome to post whatever

Legendary Announces Trio of Upcoming Monsterverse Games
https://bloody-disgusting.com/video-...erverse-games/

Quote:
It’ll be a while before we get the likes of Godzilla and Kong from Legendary Entertainment. So, in the meantime, fans of Legendary’s Monsterverse can tide themselves over with not one but three new video games available later this year, courtesy of Legendary’s collaboration with 7Levels, Tilting Point and Supersocial.

“We are thrilled to be offering our fandom not just one, but three exciting new video game experiences inspired by the Monsterverse,” said James Ngo, EVP, Franchise Management at Legendary Entertainment. “Our collaborations with Tilting Point, 7Levels, and Supersocial exemplify our commitment to delivering challenging, immersive and entertaining experiences for our fans across the globe. Each game uniquely captures the essence of our iconic monsters, bringing them to life in ways that will captivate players of all ages. We are grateful for the amazing partnership with these innovative game developers and are delighted to see the Monsterverse come alive in so many exciting new ways.”

The first title is Kong: Survivor Instinct, which is a 2.5D action-adventure game for PC and consoles from 7Levels. Set shortly after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, players navigate a shattered city through the eyes of a father searching for his missing daughter. Kong: Survivor Instinct will be available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series later this year.

For those looking for a rematch between Godzilla and Kong, there’s Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers, a 4X strategy mobile game published by Tilting Point LLC and developed by Hunted Cow Games. Set in the newly emerged Siren Isles, players will build bases, form alliances, and engage in tactical, turn-based combat with their Titan Chaser squads, as well as with creatures they’ve collected from across the Monsterverse like Skullcrawlers, Mother Longlegs and other monsters. Ultimately, you must find ways to engage with and support Godzilla & Kong themselves. Titan Chasers is available now for pre-order on iOS and Android.

Lastly, there’s a collaboration with Roblox in Monsterverse Supersocial Roblox Experience, where players become Monarch operatives interacting with fan-favorite Titans. Developed in partnership with Supersocial, this experience “offers a unique virtual world where players can engage with the Monsterverse in innovative ways.” Monsterverse Supersocial will be heading to Roblox later this year.
16-Bit Platformers Based on Halloween and Evil Dead Announced
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...ced-for-switch

Quote:
Yesterday, Boss Team Games teased that it was making two games based on the classic horror movie franchise Halloween, with the original director John Carpenter "intimately involved" in the project. And we've got a few more details on one of those games, including a second game that picks up another horror movie favourite and a release date.

Courtesy of IGN, we now know that the first Halloween game will launch alongside a second game based on the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead, which is a sequel to Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise. Developed by WayForward, the duo are part of the RetroRealms series, and both are beautiful-looking 16-bit platformers. Both games are coming out on 18th October 2024 and will be priced at $24.99 USD, or you can snag a "Double Feature" edition for $49.99 USD.

RetroRealms: Halloween sees you controlling Michael Meyers where you'll slice and slash your way through multiple retro stages inspired by the iconic Halloween franchise. In Retro Realms: Ash vs Evil Dead follows a similar pattern, but instead, you're Ash Williams. Pre-orders of the games will net you an extra character for each game — Laurie Strode for Halloween, and Kelly Maxwell for Ash vs Evil Dead. They'll have their own playstyle, weapons, and story, too.

the two games are entirely separate, but if you want to grab both, you'll have access to some exclusive content. Plus, Boss Team Games is selling a Collector's Edition of both games for $99.99 USD, which comes with a little plush of Michael Meyers. Y'know, a totally normal, cuddly toy.

Rumor: Xbox To Announce "Big Game" For PS5 Next Week

https://www.purexbox.com/news/2024/0...-ps5-next-week
Quote:
We've got some new rumours doing the rounds about Microsoft potentially bringing at least one "big" Xbox game to the PlayStation 5, with an announcement supposedly expected to take place next week at Gamescom.

This information comes from insider 'Shinobi602' (via ResetEra), with some other leakers reportedly backing up these claims. There has also been some speculation this big game could be a port of Forza Horizon 5. However, Windows Central's Jez Corden has chimed in claiming it's not this game, but admits he could still see it happening in the future.

Keep in mind, this is just a rumour for now - so take everything here with a grain of salt. What we do know is that Microsoft has made it clear select exclusives could be released on other platforms going forward. This got underway in the first half of 2024 with the release of Hi-Fi RUSH, Pentiment, Grounded and eventually Sea Of Thieves on the PlayStation 5. A few of these titles also made their way across to the Nintendo Switch.

Xbox has already found success on PlayStation as well, with Sea of Thieves becoming the PS5's best-selling game in recent months. It's also stated it's "really pleased" with the results of its multiplatform strategy so far.

Hasn't been announced yet. Speculation is that it'll be announced either at the end of this year or beginning of next year.

https://gamerant.com/antstream-plays...-announcement/

Game Rant can exclusively reveal that Antstream Arcade is coming to PlayStation on September 6. The service will bring over 1,300 retro games to Sony's consoles, with PlayStation users being able to enjoy its catalog via either a subscription or a one-time purchase of lifetime access.

The PlayStation version of Antstream Arcade was officially announced in mid-August 2024. The platform is poised to become the first third-party cloud gaming service to launch on PlayStation consoles.

Game Rant can now exclusively reveal the date of Antstream Arcade's PlayStation debut: September 6. On that date, the service will become available on both the PS4 and PS5. PlayStation users will be able to subscribe to it for $39.99 a year, or purchase lifetime access for a one-time fee of $99.99, consistent with Antstream Arcade's pricing on other platforms.
