Rewatching Endora puts a spell on Darrin episodes. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

These are the best episodes I think of when I think of Bewitched. And strictly the brilliant Dick York. No Dick Sargent. The episodes are tremendous vehicles for the comedy talents of Dick York. Also the spells set up David White (Larry Tate) for his classic confused state wondering what's going on before his very eyes. Endora (Agnes Moorehead) is a necessary but distasteful tool being an incredibly vile monster mother-in-law to set up to Dick York's comedy genius rolls.

Interesting Elizabeth Montgomery stays in the background when Dick York is on a comedic roll. Kind of like Jerry on Seinfeld and Andy Griffith on TAGS.

I have always thought the best stars of tv shows (comedy or other) lets the co-stars and supporting cast shine. Mary Tyler Moore did this.
