I think they were taken somewhere outside of Los Angeles. Heres the shows website; maybe you can find out for sure on there:http://www.greenacres.net

OMG, I saw that too and I nearly busted out laughing! I almost emailed those people and asked "Uh, any relation to Eustace Haney?" It reminded me of that ep where he turned the Douglas's farmhouse into an inn while they were in Washington.

According to this site, http://mortystv.com/locat.shtml (scroll down to Green Acres), most of the outdoor shots were filmed in Thousand Oaks, CA. Unfortunately all the farmland, including the barn with "Green Acres" painted on the roof, has been torn down and replaced by apartments now. The only exception that I've found is the very first farmhouse you see at the beginning of the opening credits. It still stands and is near Paso Robles, CA. I got the street image from Google Earth:

Just outside of Visalia, California, is the town of Pixley. If you remember, Hank Kimball was the county agent, and the county he worked for was Tulare. Pixley is in Tulare county. All the cities they talk about (aside from Hooterville) really exist around Pixley. I went to kindergarten in Visalia, and always got a kick out of them mentioning something in the area. We used to drive past that barn with Green Acres on it, only the name was painted over right away. It was there for years and years. The whole area was farmland back then, but more and more was developed every year, so it's almost impossible to recognize, now.

What about "Porterville" being an inspiration for Hooterville?

The Black and tan New York City office building that figures prominently from the Douglas' balcony is located at 777 Third Avenue

Corner of Third Avenue and 48th street

I saw these videos in my recommendations.

Quote:
The lost location of the Green Acres barn, the barn seen in the opening credits to Green Acres has been found. The barn was demolished decades ago, and all that was known was that it was filmed somewhere in Thousand Oaks, CA in 1965. In this video we go through the research and sleuthing to find this lost location of TV's golden age. I also go to two more Green Acres locations in Hollywood and Los Angeles.
