I would also buy this. As far as why the show only lasted a season and a half, there were so many changes happening in that short time span that the viewer probably thought "what the heck happened???" if they had missed a couple episodes. Let's see... first Angie is a waitress in a coffee shop and falls in love with pediatrician Brad. They get married and move in to his huge mansion. A few episodes later Brad surprises Angie by purchasing the coffee shop and has Angie become manager. Not long after that Angie puts the mansion on the market and they move to a smaller, cozier (yet still opulent) home, with Brad's offices downstairs. Not long after that Angie sells the coffee shop and purchases a beauty salon (employing her mother, who previously worked at a newsstand). This was still an enjoyable show and had some good comedy writing and great performances from Donna Pescow, Robert Hays, Debralee Scott, Sharon Spellman and Doris Roberts.
Hey maybe SHOUT! FACTORY can look into this... they've done a great job picking up the ball with DVD releases so far this year! |

If Shout! does indeed have the rights, I bet it will eventually be released, especially for Doris Roberts, since she became so well known on Everybody Loves Raymond. People would want to see here as Mrs. Falco.

And BOOM!!! 10 years after the question was asked the show is complete on DVD.
Maybe the most surprising release in past 10 years |

It's already on DVD. I saw it and it was a charming show and very underrated.

No bonus features. It says "Music has been changed for this home entertainment version" on the back of the case. According to some reviews, most of the episodes are syndicated versions at around 21 minutes instead of the original running time of around 24-25 minutes. Only 7 of the 36 episodes are uncut.
The following are the UNCUT episodes, all others have a 21:40 running time, give or minus a few seconds: THE PROPOSAL THE FIRST SEPARATION HARVEY’S MOTHER MARY MARY MARRIES THE GAMBLER THERESA’S GIGOLO ANGIE & JOYCE GO TO JAIL I'm glad I bought the set when it was only $9.99 on Amazon. The cheapest new copy currently is $99.94. It looks like VEI removed it from their website. |
