AnnaLynne McCord is on her way to Salem. The "90210" star has signed a one-year contract to play Marin on Peacock‘s "Days of Our Lives".

Her character is described as a “fascinating and complicated woman who is devastatingly beautiful, almost angelic in her outward appearance. The desire of many but her heart belongs to only one man who continues to push her away for her own good.”

Her character will appear later in 2024.

Abigail is Back from the Dead… or is She?

The search for Abigail is in full swing on "Days of Our Lives"! Clyde’s prompting is leading Julie and Chad to Chicago and answers — or is he just leading them right where he wants?

That’s the question we’re left with when they discover someone this week.

Chad’s out following Clyde’s clues to find his supposedly not-dead wife, and that search is going to lead him right to AnnaLynne McCord’s “Mystery Woman.”

That’s how the actress described her first appearance when Soaps.com spoke with her, but clearly, there’s a whole lot more to the character. Chad’s looking for Abigail, but he finds a woman who doesn’t look like her.

She doesn’t act like her. So who is she and why did Clyde lead Chad to her?

In other words, McCord’s first few appearances leave both the viewers — not to mention Chad — wondering, “‘Who are you? What’s going on?’”

“You very quickly see that my character is under extreme duress,” McCord teases, “and it’s Chad and another character that come to the rescue. There’s a whole rescue operation being planned around my character because you very quickly are shown that trouble is afoot.”

That’s all well and good, but what happens once she’s rescued?

“What we believe is that she’s Abigail Devereux, back from the dead,” McCord explains once things settle down. But even if she is, and Chad “is the love of her life, she still doesn’t feel anything [for him] because she doesn’t know who she is. She’s had amnesia. She’s gone through a serious accident. She’s had plastic surgery. She has had a whole myriad of things occur and she is navigating a really sticky situation when you first meet her.”

At least, those are the claims. Because if you wanted to fake someone coming back from the dead, it’s awfully convenient for them to look totally different and have no memory of their life or loved ones.

Worse, McCord notes, “you see that she is playing along with what Clyde Weston is making her do. The first few days are really just kind of figuring out who’s gonna trust who.”

So which is she? The real deal or a fakeout from Clyde to convince Chad to help him? McCord isn’t telling just yet, but she does realize that no matter what, she’s stepping into a role and a storyline that comes with a lot of expectations. And she doesn’t take that responsibility lightly.

“I hope that the fans of Days, if you don’t love me, at least don’t hate me,” she shared. “I’m very excited to be a part of this. I know what it’s like to love a character and to have it done in a new way, and I hope that I make you guys happy at least in some capacity.”

"Days of Our Lives" Finally Confirms AnnaLynne McCord’s Mystery Role

Nearly eight months after Peacock announced that AnnaLynne McCord was cast in "Days of Our Lives", we can finally confirm which character she is actually playing.

Following a DNA test on Wednesday’s episode, McCord’s Jane Doe was revealed to be none other than the presumed-dead Abigail DiMera, previously portrayed by Marci Miller.
