Just finished the pilot and so glad they got rid of the first tommy. he looked kind of crazy. I also didnt know in first episode it was called Mel's and Ruby's Cafe and was later changed to Mel's diner

The 2nd episode was weird with forced gay storyline. The man asked Alice out to dinner and then reveals he is gay? What the hell he ask her out for if he was gay? See what I mean by forced gay storyline.

The guy who played the food critic who died from mel's chili did a bad acting job of dying in the booth. And Andy and Vera has been annoying in almost every episode

I need to see the movie Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore because I believe the pilot episode basically picks up where the movie leaves off.

Alfred Lutter is the name of the young actor who originally had the role of Tommy, he was in the movie and also the pilot episode before being replaced by Philip McKeon.

I have seasons 1-4 on DVD, the seasons when Flo was in the show. Not really interested to have seasons 5-9 unless I decide to change my mind.

He didn't have much of an acting career, lasted from 1974 to 1977 according to Internet Movie Database. His last TV acting credit is an episode of the drama series Family from 1977. Seems to me he left acting to pursue a business career.

When Alice debuted his role in the sitcom was really promoted since he was in the movie. Its strange because he was so damn good in the movie but the pilot does not work so much for him. I have a vague recollection he did not want to do acting which is why his career never flourished. The second Tommy was a good replacement although when he went through puberty and got really tall he became awkward.
The second DJ on Roseanne was also a good replacement and he looked just like a mini Roseanne.

well the website is down and I am all set to watch episode 6 in season 4. Now its on hold until further notice. Something told me to watch the whole series every day because it was no telling how long the site would stay up. Where I stopped is where Antenna TV is on saturdays. They are in the same season but a littler further ahead. I believe antenna tv is at episode 12 in season 4.
