Default All seasons on DVD! Finally!

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Rea...-Planned/20196

This is great news! I only wish they'd release a complete series box set instead of individual seasons at that high price.

I've been wanting this series FOREVER and I've never gotten around to buying any of the seasons. I think next time I get paid I will buy seasons 1 & 2. I have fond memories of watching it with my mom and dad when it aired on TNN way back when. I wish TV Land would air it.

Anyone bought any of the new releases? I'm thinking about getting the MOD season 3 next week.

Just wondering what the picture quality is on these new MOD sets.

Yeah, with at least three minutes missing from the episodes. A deal breaker for me.

The DVD marketplace was never properly defined so everything that happened after that left the entire enterprise with a lot of dissatisfied buyers and sellers. With a few exceptions this was going to be a product for the collectors. The episodes were going to have to be fully restored both to their original running time and their original appearance. This was going to be a costly undertaking and to make the whole thing profitable the asking price was going to have to reflect the costs associated with bringing a quality product to market. The sellers didn't market the product properly and the buyers in many cases didn't get what they wanted.

I'll give an example of this, I bought season 1 of Barnaby Jones, it was a midseason replacement series so only 13 episodes were done the first year, the episodes were fully restored, they looked great and it cost $39.95. The sell through wasn't good, when season 2 came out, it cost about $10 less, had twice as many episodes but guess what, syndicated versions (about 6 minutes missing per episode) and the color was washed out, bad copies. The entire series was released but with the exception of season one, the rest of the seasons are poor quality. I wasn't interested in purchasing anything after season 2. It's seems to be too late to fix any of this now, it's pretty much over, either you move on or purchase the lower quality product, that's the only decision.
