Thumbs up

Here is a 2008 Today Show interview with members of the Airplane cast: Peter Graves, Leslie Nielsen, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Robert Hays and Jill Whelan. It's great!

I didn't know his brother was James Arness, or maybe I forgot. Rest in Peace, Peter Graves. I enjoyed your talent.

Mission Impossible was one of my Dad's favorite shows. It was always playing in our house when I was a kid. A great talent he was. R.I.P. Peter.

Well, there's the 3rd celebrity death...

Corey Haim, Merlin Olson, and now Peter.

I didn't watch MI much, but I LOVED him in Airplane!! He said his wife talked him into taking the role in Airplane. He was understandably worried that role would end his career. I like not only his part with Joey, but the whole "Oveur, Unger, Roger" bit. Still cracks me up!

Peter

I need to watch the Airplane! movies again... It's been a while.

I've been on a real 7th Heaven kick lately. Right now, I'm in the eighth season... I loooooooved his guest appearances on 7th Heaven. I hated him at first (the first time The Colonel and his wife Ruth came to visit the Camdens in the first season of the show), but as they developed his character some more, his character really started to grow on me.

Midwest boy for the win - my mom and I had JUST been discussing Peter Graves and James Arness not even three days prior to his passing, with a heavy emphasis on the fact that they were both born and grew up in Minneapolis. Yay!

RIP, Peter.

Peter was also a U.S. Army Air Force veteran.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Very sad. I started watching Mission Impossible a couple of months ago and I love it. R.I.P, Mr. Phelps.
