Richard Dawson was great in Both of them(with the exception of The Family Feud 1994-1995 season). He was also excellent in the 1972-73 revival of I’ve Got A Secret.

Richard was the king of Match Game. He never should have left.

Match Game. I thought Family Feud was just a game show, but Match Game was more than that. He really helped shape Match Game.

Match Game. Dawson had great writing on there, plus he was a really good game player. That whole group centering around him, Brett Somers, Fannie Flagg, and Charles Nelson Reilly was great.

70’s Match Game is the best game show of all time. Family Feud was tame and boring compared to Match. Really I think the success of Family Feud had more to do with the format itself than any charisma Dawson brought to the hosting role.

He was so good on both shows. I agree about his return to "Feud" in the '90s. He seemed a little - off. I like the way he gave reliably good answers on "Match Game." He didn't just go for the laugh.

I love Dick, on both!

Everybody loves Dick, obviously.

I liked Dick in the bottom center on Match Game most though.

I have to go with Match Game. My introduction to Richard for years on end had been with Family Feud, but FF, while giving him a chance to be charming and urbane, never gave him the chance to be as funny as he could be on MG. Much as I loathe to bow to contempary opinion, this may be evidenced by the fact that Match Game, between Buzzr and Game Show Network, is on a cool 10 hours per day, whilst the original FF is relegated to 1 hour at the rather ignamonious 8 AM slot.

It's interesting to watch the re-watch these shows knowing what we know now.
The interviews with friends and family tell us just how unhappy Richard Dawson was, even at his peak.
You'd never know it watching the Feud, but you can pick it up watching Match Game.

I guess money can't buy happiness.

Match Game. He was OK on Family Feud, but there was more chances for his wit to shine on Match Game. He said in a few interviews I saw that he left the show because the producers introduced the wheel instead of letting people pick who they wanted to play with, because most people picked him (with good reason - he frequently had the matching answer).
