In the beginning of the movie, it shows him jumping forward in time through the storm in space to the 24th century where we see General Thade alive.
At the end of the movie when he leaves again and finds Earth, it shows him going back in time to the 21st century and he finds the statue, that's supposed to be of Lincoln, of General Thade. What confuses me is the obvious. How can there be a statue arrected to a General who hasn't been borned yet? I'm sure that's not the only contradiction in the movie. |

Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes movie had a lot of plot holes that were answered in supplemental material; like postcards and comics that you had to look out for.
The official answer to this came on one of the postcards included inside the DVD: Thade (Roth) fixed the pod and arrived at our Earth before Leo (Wahlberg). |
