Thumbs up My humble take on "Planet of the Apes"

Okay, I'm really tired. I just got home from the 10 o'clock showing of "Planet of the Apes". I sat in the front row, and my neck and eyes are in pain. The worst part of it all was that there was some grody woman a couple seats down from me actually farting.

Alright, let's just get to the movie.
I'll be honest, I have never seen the original "Planet of the Apes". So, my opinion about the new film might be completely biased and/or total crap.

Anyway, I'm not a Mark Whalberg fan, so I did not see this film for a pretty face. I wanted to see some flying apes. And that's what I saw. Flying, menacing monkeys..oops, sorry, APES. There are some funny moments, mostly supplied by the human slave trader ( forget his name). But there's the other funny parts that weren't supposed to be funny. Most of Marky Mark's lines to Ari the ape are hilarious. Especially the one about "showing her something that'll change her world forever." Go see the film, and you'll understand.

The apes themselves look pretty cool, but it takes a bit of time to get used to the female's styled do's...

Tim Roth as General Thade is one bad mofo, and almost to the point of annoyance, because you hate him so much.
Oh, and watch out for the Charlton Heston cameo, as Thade's father.

The final battle is sort of a let down, and I actually felt cheapened by the ending that is CLEARLY left opened for a sequel... by the way, Abe Lincoln looks pretty damn cool as an ape...

If you've goten this far, I'm very surprised. You must care about my opinion, which I HIGHLY doubt. Anyway, go have fun at the movies. Or not, it's your money...

Please go and rent the original movie! You won't be sorry! Why Hollywood thinks they can remake a classic film is beyond me! Leave well enough alone!
