Again, I apologize because I do not remember names or exact dates. It's been awhile since I've seen these episodes...
First one was also made into an American Justice segment on A&E. A young girl was kidnapped from her home and the police felt that it was staged based on the way the window in her room (or basement, can't remember which) was broken. They found her in a wooded area a few days later, dead. They accused her stepfather of killing her and he spent several years behind bars, and he was finally released but the true killer was never apprehended. I believe they thought it was an uncle of some sort. Second one was about a Texas woman who is still in jail (last I heard of, anyways). They lived in an upscale neighborhood and she claimed she woke up one night to find herself being stabbed by a stranger, and he had murdered her two children. Police investigations showed that they believed it was the mother who murdered her children because the family was running out of money and couldn't afford their lifestyle. She had always maintained her innocence, and her husband believed her. Like I said, I saw these sometime in the 90's (with the exception of a few minutes of the American Justice episode of the first case) and I have very few details other than that. |

First case, the stepfather was exonorated but a suspect in the case was never found. The cops still think the stepfather did it and that he just weasled out of the charges somehow. The 2nd case is Darlie Routier and she is still on death row in Texas and is still appealing her conviction.

Now, when I said David Dewoliahby (sp?) was exonorated, I meant the courts exonorated him. He hasnt really been exonorated by the police who still think he is a murderer and weasled out of the charges somehow.

Yeah, he did take a lie-detector test. Evidently he passed a lie detector test at one time. This was a test given by the police. But then they wanted him to take another test and they started wanting him to say things he didnt want to say and he walked out of it.
