The CBS show "48 Hours" will be featuring a segment on the death of Sandra Orellana tomorrow night (Wednesday, February 12) at 10:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
You may recall that she was the woman who, in November of 1996, plunged to her death from a Los Angeles hotel balcony. Unsolved Mysteries originally aired a segment on the case during the 1996-97 season, shortly after the tragedy happened. Her boss, Robert Lee Salazar was staying at the same hotel where she died. Police believe that Orellana refused his sexual advances, and considered this a possible motive for her death, which they believe was a murder. Nonetheless, Salazar claims that her death was accidental. |

Thanks for the info. I just finished watching it a few minutes ago and it was very interesting to see more about the case. I was surprised that Robert Lee Salazar was found not guilty because I suspect that he is responsible for Sandra Orellana's death.

The minute I heard he was declared not guilty, I felt like yelling out "d'oh!" ![]() When he was interviewed, I felt he was lying. If he said he didn't kill her, then how can he explain those sexual advances he made on her prior to her death? Not only do I feel sorry for her family but for the investigator (I forgot his name. Anyone remember?) who worked for about 6 years, hoping to prove that Salazar was responsible. -Makoto_4 |

That investigator was good. He was retired but, he had alot of knowledge on past cases. He knew the guy was guilty! What was the guy's shoe and underwear doing in room 813?
Why didn't he call 911? Instead he called room 813 twice! It's a sad story. Now he has to live the rest of his life with the death of this young lady on his consceince! |

Oh no! I forgot to watch it--I was out running errands. But I can't believe he was found not guilty!
