Hello Out There From TV Land,
I'm curious to know if anyone here has any Original ABC Television Network Broadcasts of "Bosom Buddies" W/O/C (With Original Commercials)? The reason I ask is because although both seasons are on DVD, they unfortunately for yours truly omit the original theme song--specifically "My Life," Written by Billy Joel and Performed by Atlanta Studio Musician Gary Bennett--and replace it with "Shake Me Loose," Written by show creator Chris Thompson and Performed by R&B Singer Stephanie Mills (or as I like to jokingly call it, "The Suck Song," due in no small part to it replacing "My Life" as its theme song). I've also noticed that several episodes cut out and/or omit scenes containing certain songs that would make the episodes otherwise complete, uncut, and unedited--among them "Chances Are" from Season 2's "All You Need is Love," "Happy Days Are Here Again" from Season 1's "My Brother, My Sister, Myself" and "Yakkity Yak" and "Da Do Run Run" both from Season 2's "One For You, One For Me" as well as "Rock 'n' Roll Heaven" from Season 2's "Hildy's Dirt Nap" to name just a few songs omitted from certain DVD episodes. Alternately, I'll also accept any episode for those in America taped off NBC reruns from 1984 after Tom Hanks made a "Splash" at the Box Office. Anyhow, any help in restoring "Bosom Buddies" in its complete, uncut, unedited form as it originally aired on ABC would be greatly appreciated. And remember, if you want somebody to be your friend, you've got to be a friend to them. Bye Bye, Everybody!!! Just one more thing: RIP to the stars of "Bosom Buddies" lost to the Emperor of All Maladies: Lucille Benson (July 17, 1984 - February 17, 1984), Wendie Jo Sperber (September 15, 1958 - November 29, 2005) and Peter Scolari (September 12, 1954 - October 22, 2021) |
