Default Did Meredith Baxter Appear in the Episode "One Man Shy"?

I watched this episode recently, and I could have sworn I saw Meredith Baxter. She didn't have any lines, but she appears in a couple scenes. She was in the spin the bottle scene where she kisses Davy a couple of times and she shows up again during the party. She also appears at the end when four girls all kiss Peter. I checked IMDB, but it doesn't say anything, which makes sense because she didn't have any lines.

Does anyone know for sure if that's her or is it just some lookalike? She would have been about 19 at the time and if it is her, it's probably one of her first tv appearances.

I'll have to check but I don't think she is in it. There is a girl I am thinking of who was the object of Davy's affection in the Chaperone episode (and also played one of Cissy's friends on Family Affair) so maybe that is the one I'm thinking of.

Here's a couple of screencaps from that episode.

It so does look like Meredith Baxter! I would say it's about a 85% chance that it is her! If it's not then that girl is her doppelganger!

I see some resemblance, but I'm not so sure. Her first credited TV appearances were in 1971. The Monkees episode aired five years earlier on December 5, 1966.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000880/

She guest starred on The Partridge Family on December 31, 1971.

This theory was mentioned on another Monkees forum.

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/monk...ter-t9944.html

You would think she would have mentioned it in an interview over the years. Maybe someone could ask her if she's on social media.

Wikipedia goofed up her first appearance by stating it was that Partridge episode, saying it was in 1970 instead of 1971. She had appearances on three other shows before that, all in early 1971.

Since she had no lines she'd be uncredited in Th Monkees episode. She would probably have been 19 when it was filmed.

I believe that's Meredith, I think the certainty % posted by Shocker is not unreasonable at all.

Looking at her eyes, the shapes of her nose, chin, and ear, all look to be consistent with her filmed appearances from her younger years. Natural hair color I believe. Ample bosom, far above average for sure. Lovely lady I must say!

Very telling I will add: she seemed to have a slight overbite, and we're seeing that as well. Here's an image from some years later:

With her hair up, we see that Meredith has a relatively small head. (This is in contrast to some other beauties, for example Linda Purl has stated that her own head is disproportionately big. No matter, I find both attractive.) To sum up, I'm seeing so much that's consistent.

One more look at Meredith Baxter from her young years. Again, really lovely.

That slight overbite I noticed on The Monkees pics--in the b/w pic Biff posted the overbite is pretty obvious--in the color picture not so much.

In the b/w picture look at Meredith's left ear--the part where the ear normally curls at the end is "squished" near the top. Compare that to Skywalker's fourth picture--it isn't squished there, it curls like normal.

So, I think The Monkees girl is not Meredith.

Here's a side-by-side comparison, at left Meredith from The Love Boat
in 1977, at right is the 1966 Monkees screenshot from earlier in this
thread -- a full decade apart:

Name: Screenshot (1818).png
Views: 191
Size: 441.4 KB

Note that in most of the Monkees screenshots, the mouth is not
completely closed. When Meredith closed her mouth, it was pretty
obvious that it took a slight effort -- more naturally somewhat open.
This comparison illustrates that. There's similar closure in the second-
to-last image with Peter Tork.

Regarding ears, I've observed 2 types women tend to have: one is
like a smaller version of men's ears, the other is more open on the top
half (more rounded with no folds). The former is seen in all of these
images, camera angles make a big difference.

It was Roxanne Albee, not MBB, who appeared in the "One Man Shy" episode. I took these screencaps. They're on page 24 of The Monkees' photo gallery.
