Loves the show when I was a kid and in fact inspired me to move to NYC in the late 70's Unfortunately it was nothing like that girl NYC, my NYC was dirty disgusting crime ridden corrupt dangerous extremely expensive and yes new yorkers are about as rude as you can imagine. After 3 years I was happy to leave.I didn't even get a chance to fly a kite with a drawing of me in lower Manhattan.

Did you at least arrive in NYC on a train traveling on the wrong (left) track?

landed at Laguardia and the moment the plane touched down it took off and the pilot came on the intercom a few moments later and said "lets try that again" Im guessing there was some type of runway incursion.

I moved to NY in the late 80s. It's not something you'd put on TV.

Oh, when you grow up on Long Island and the majority of the TV you see comes from New York City (including the news), it's hard to believe there was ever a time when people got truly excited about being there without being wary of all the crooks and freaks. I knew better than to look at it like a Rock Hudson-Doris Day romantic comedy, and learned to see it more like "Taxi Driver," "The Warriors," and "Fort Apache: The Bronx." Eventually I leaned to gain a happy medium between the two perspectives. Then the city started to go downhill again four years ago.
