Just read about it today.

Poor thing.

Gurney probably doesn't have the same quality of doctors as say, Stanford has.

Susan's real last name of Gercke is very similar to one I know, Gerecke.
Garcke also seems to be not uncommon.



One of my favorite roles for Susan was on Bonanza, when Edward Platt
(known for Get Smart) played an older-man character who hit on her in
a very unwelcome manner. Here's how she looked in that 1960 episode, lovely:

IIRC she also played Robbie's tutor in season 6 of My Three Sons. Robbie fell for her (understandably) and she met Steve someplace, and he started dating her.
