Default Nancy's Great Hair: Meredith Baxter's Long "Family" Tresses..!

One of TV's hottest ladies, Meredith Baxter Birney employed several ways of controlling her hair on Family
as Nancy Lawrence Maitland. Here is a fun look at Meredith and her lovely long tresses. Also educational
as we see (especially in the 2nd post) how many accessories she used.

Loose style, center-parted -- classically beautiful.
Meredith's face is so lovely:

Updo for a professional yet sexy appearance:

Size: 275.2 KB

Once more for the updo. A great example of
the fantastic beauty of Meredith's face:

Size: 402.8 KB

Headband, she looks fine. Those eyes are
quite pretty:

Size: 486.6 KB

Sweeping partially pulled-back style, really
elegant:

Size: 120.5 KB

Classic style of 2 barrettes. So nice, and the
length is great:

Slightly shorter length for Meredith as we close for now.
With great actor James Broderick as her dad.
RIP James, you were taken from us too soon:

More looks at different ways Meredith Baxter wore her hair
as Nancy:

A truly pretty, loose style in my opinion, showing
great body & fullness of her beautifully curled tresses:

Size: 83.8 KB

Pulled back completely, wearing a bandana in back:

Size: 168.1 KB

Instead of barrettes, here we see Meredith employing
tortoise-shell style combs to hold her hair in place:

Size: 398.1 KB

In the next 2 images, Meredith wears good-sized
barrettes:

Size: 384.2 KB

Size: 114.1 KB

Lastly, in the final 2 images, Meredith is wearing
fancy barrettes. She looks so great, the floral
style accentuates her beauty:

I hope you've enjoyed this study of how Meredith wore her
hair on Family. I never realized she had used combs to
keep her long hair in place -- as an alternative to barrettes.
So I learned something from doing uploads showing this lovely lady.

You should write a book. It would be helpful for teenagers anguishing over their looks. You mention people that I would not. As a chick, I do not see the same things you see in women.

When I was around 6 years old in the very early seventies, a girl on my block named Cindy a few years older than me had very long brunette hair, somewhere in length between waist-length and classic length. With no sisters and my nearest female cousin far off in Europe, I knew practically nothing about women's long hair -- my mom had cut hers some years before I was born.

I was then decidedly becoming a "long hair admiration guy," but one thing I regret is not paying more attention to girls who happened to have short styles. In grade school, one girl in particular became quite flirtatious with me, but one reason I was dismissive was because she wore a pixie cut.

So seeing Cindy's hair I think led to my lifelong fascination with women's long styles. Of course, on TV I observed Cher and her gorgeous long black hair and other celebrities. I gradually learned about things like flat-ironing, jojoba oil, Japanese straightening, dusting, hot rollers, accent braids, etc. I loved old photos of teens having their long hair ironed on a clothes ironing board...!

Anyway, in the era I grew up in, it was very fun to see girls in my classes wearing wide bell-bottom pants and other '70s "classics." Over on the Courtship of Eddie's Father board, member Theda Bara has made many insightful observations of women's clothing of the era -- and seeing her descriptions, I realize I'll never know as much about women's fashions as women do. I always notice their hair foremost, and I've been an admirer for SO many years.

Meredith Baxter was a true beauty in the classic sense. She had great bone structure, great features and symmetry to her face. I've always liked her!

Here's a variety of Meredith's looks in S2, as always a "good hair" season,
beginning with a second look at her headband style.
