Even though there was rarely a statement of "To Be Continued " on The Beverly Hillbillies there were many stories that took multiple episodes to complete those stories.
The only other show I can think of with continuous episode stories would be Batman (Adam West/Burt Ward). "Same Bat time, Same Bat channel" |

Some of The Honeymooners Lost Episode sketches when shown in syndication. There are, no joke, 28 OF THEM.
When the episodes are not viewed in syndication, they are shown uncut but not with the words “To be continued.” |

You're right about all primetime soaps would fit this. I was too general when I indicated "show" I should have listed sitcom. |

I think Paul Henning did this sometimes with Love That Bob/Bob Cummings Show.

Correct. Beverly Hillbillies had many very long storyline that needed multiple episodes to complete. I can't think of too many like that on One Day at a Time unless the reference is of the rebooted show. I never watched it so I have no point of reference for that version.

Hillbillies had some decent story arcs (2 or more episodes with the same theme, but kinda “closed” in each episode as far as a plot ending).
I loved the Mr Epps beatnik arc. But the less said about the frogman arc, the better! cd |

I liked the beatnik episodes too. Later the same actor, the son of the voice of Fred Flintstone, was a Hippie.

Ah yes, Alan Reed Jr.
How he got excited when Jethro told him how he “smoked crawdads” as a kid (like smoked fish). Granny going looking for Jethro in Griffith Park when cops asked her what she’s doing: “I’m lookin’ to smoke crawdads.” “Smoke WHAT?” “Crawdads. But first I need a little pot.” cd |
