The catch with the 99 cent store is that the price ends in 99 cents. Hardly anything is only a penny under a dollar anymore . I'd say judging from the last time I was there not that long ago , most items run for 1.99 to 7.99!

I have Dollar Tree store one block away from me and I shop there often. 75% of their merchandise is still $1.25 while the rest are marked as $3 or $5. Sometimes one could find real bargains, especially when they bring in over stock items from other companies and sell it dirt cheap. For example, recently bought a digital bathroom scale for $5 where other places like Walmart have it for $15.

My mom and I used to be big dollar store fans and in every mall we'd go to we would stop at dollar stores and my mom used to shop Dollar Tree and when she went in Mom would always find amazing stuff but some odd things there too. Take for example my Dollar Tree has a giant aisle full of nothing but books but most of the books my Dollar Tree has are celebrity biographies and romance novels and I cannot imagine how Dollar Tree sells these books for $1. My aunt also likes dollar stores and she goes to Dollar Tree Dollar General but her store of choice is Family Dollar because she gets good deals on food and other things. My aunt used to be a huge fan of Big Lots and when my cousins were little she bought most of their toys from Big Lots and gave them to my cousins as Christmas gifts and I think why Dollar Tree and other dollar stores as well as bargain closeout stores like Big Lots and Factory2U have taken over as popular retailers now is because you can really get a lot of stuff a lot cheaper than at Target and Walmart. I have heard of 99 Cents Stores and have one and from what I learned about them is that they seemed to replace stores like Big Lots Ollie's Bargain Mart because some of their merchandise like food you can get for $1,99 but they mainly focus on cheap holiday items like you can get Halloween decor and Christmas decor and for Easter you can get cheap deals on Easter candy and Easter basket stuffers and Easter baskets too. But I think in a few years the dollar store craze will still be successful in the future. But I think Dollar Tree lowered it's price to $7 is to regain a new audience to their stores and ever since they merged with Family Dollar they have tried experimenting with new ways to attract customers more

now the News is reporting ALL 99Cent stores are Closing.....now we can expect more hunger and crime.....370 stores are closing, 99 can't keep up with the demand of the Explosive population. and this burden is majorally exacerbated by the millions of illegals getting into the U.S, the poverty is more and more extreme.

I heard about the closure of 99 Cents stores from my mom who saw the story on the news and even though my mother and I never went into a 99 Cents Store before I have read about them and from what i've learned about 99 Cents stores is you used to get good deals on groceries and snacks such as Maruchan Yakisoba Noodles for 99 cents Michelina's entrees for 99 cents and Bugles Corn Snacks for 99 cents but you could tell that they started going downhill when they started raising prices on their items and some of their items were not 99 cents. This may play a factor on why the 99 Cents Stores are closing because of this price raising. Because when you get the general picture dollar stores have always been very popular and the main reason why dollar stores are successful is because you can always find great deals on items for a dollar. My mall used to have a dollar store chain called Everything's A Dollar "Perhaps you may have had this dollar store chain in your mall in the 90's" and what Everything's A Dollar had was books toys food and everything you could think of for a dollar and it was a cool store and they went broke for reasons unknown but you should look up the history of Everything's A Dollar on Youtube and you'll see why that store chain was so cool. But I think when it comes to dollar store chains I think Dollar Tree has become the king of dollar stores second to Dollar General and here's something shocking about Dollar Tree that I bet you didn't even know about. Dollar Tree is owned by the same company that owns Family Dollar and I learned this fact from the Eric C Productions Do You Remember Youtube channel which may be the reason why Dollar Tree has lowered their price to $7 and Family Dollar is the third largest dollar store chain next to Dollar Tree. My uncle also loves dollar stores and he goes to buy snacks at Dollar Tree almost every day and was shocked at this new pricing change too. But as I mentioned in my earlier post I think the bargain closeout stores such as Big Lots have big competition and might drive the dollar stores out of business and Dollar Tree will be the lone survivor of dollar store chains in the next years ahead

99 and the dollar stores CANNOT compete with the explosive planned inflation for America, and if they ever come back, their names could more appropriately be $10 Store......Prices are NOT coming down unless a major depression it's the country....the poverty people will get more poverty stricken....and you know how the financially comfortable/wealthy will be....

Is Pic "N" Save that bargain store that is the same as Big Lots? I know this before Big Lots became huge Pic "N" Save was the original name of Big Lots then it became MacFrugal's and now it's known as Big Lots today. What a surprise because if Pic "N" Save does save 99 Cents Stores they will rebrand as Big Lots if the deal goes well

Yes on Pic n Save and Big Lots, and we'll see how it all turns out when it's time.
