The Key Bridge was about 30 minutes away give or take from me and I knew nothing about it until I saw it on the news yesterday morning.

If you've never been to Baltimore, this is what it was like driving over the Key Bridge heading into the county

Caroline - have you officially lost your mind? I live in Baltimore - have gone over that Bridge countless times.

It is gone. Horrific accident. The admins should delete your account. People lost their lives doing their jobs on that Bridge. Your account should be deleted and you should be ashamed.

Lol what are you on about? Nobody said it never happened. The only other things posted were a video of going over the bridge, which isn't even recent.

Very sad and tragic! Prayers for Baltimore ,those poor workers on the bridge and their families !

A member here, Anna Karenina that I was good online friends with who hasn't posted in a while lives in Maryland , also a guy who went by Isaaih Thomas who hasn't posted here in a while is from Maryland too. I thought of them right away. I think they were both from the part of Maryland near Virginia and D.C. not near Baltimore . But still , I'm sure it is really upsetting being it's the same state!

Prayers !!!

Yes it's a major disaster and will cause major issues for the whole country as it will prevent travel and getting goods to all. Amazon has a big plant back there and that will affect prices for all...finding ways to get stuff moving....It's way deeper than on the surface.

The ship lost power as they approached the bridge. The crew notified the local authorities and they were able to stop vehicle traffic from going over the bridge. That saved lives. Once the ship lost power it drifted into a pylon supporting the bridge, probably the worst thing that could have happened. The crash destroyed the support of the bridge, which caused the bridge to collapse. This particular ship has a bad safety record; this is not the first time it lost power. It probably should not have been allowed to sail in American waters, but it's too late now.
