Surely I can't be the only fan of this classic 1980s series created by Steven Spielburg? It was an awesome show, a modern day family version of the Twilight Zone if you will.
Who can remember those classic episodes "Family Dog", "Mummy Daddy", "The Doll", and "The Ring"...true there were some not-so-great episodes but mostly the show was always entertaining. I hear it's to be released on DVD, amazon.com have a page all waiting although no release date as of yet. Still yes! I would love to add this series to my collection. Incredible show with great guest stars (like John Lilthgow, Rhea Pearlman, Danny DeVito, and Hayley Mills amoung them) Such a shame it was so ill recieved by critics and many viewers.

Had I caught this much much sooner, I'd have already posted a response.
![]() I absolutely remember watching Amazing Stories, and loving every minute of it. This is one of those shows I'd be more than happy to have in my collection as well. Along with quite a few others. Nice to see it being mentioned here! "Family Dog" is top notch - hilarious. I also liked the other stories you've listed, including "The Wedding Ring," "Ghost Train," "Alamo Jobe," "Fine Tuning," "Remote Control Man," among others. There's another show I remember watching, though it didn't last long at all: Darkroom. James Coburn hosted the series where you could catch different spooky tales each week. |

I love Amazing Stories! My favorite episode of all is "Go to the Head of the Class" starring Christopher Lloyd.

Didn't watch this show much but I do remember an episode where Polly Holliday (Flo from Alice) was trying to grow a huge pumpkin to enter in a pumpkin contest and her pumpkin ending up being the size of a small house.

often than not it hit the mark. A few standout episodes: "The Mission" (Kevin Costner), "Mr. Magic" (Sid Caesar), "Ghost Train," "Santa '85," "Mummy, Daddy" (Bronson Pinchot), "Fine Tuning" (Matthew Laborteaux), and the pilot for "Family Dog." Just to name a few. |

As a kid, this show terrified me...
As an adult, catching the reruns on USA network, I loved it! My favorite was the episode "Dorothy and Ben," one of the most touching things I've ever seen on TV. Also loved the one with Gregory Hines as a nightclub psychic... and the one where Patrick Swayze had the power to bring people back to life... and I know I'm forgetting some good ones! I never thought this series received its due... and it had great music! John Williams wrote the theme! Can't beat that... |

I loved this show...it had some crazy ass stories...btw is it amazing stories that had an episode with Mare Winningham and the late Brad Davis who were given a box with a button on it by a strange man and if they pushed the button someone would die and they would get a million dollars, tax free. They pushed the button and got the money then the man took the box and told them he would give the box to another "desperate" person and give them the same option...however, if the next person pushed the button, THEY WOULD BE THE ONES TO DIE!!!!!! AAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
