She was a pretty little girl. So many kids are cute when a kid, but funny looking as an adult, or funny looking as a kid, but cute as an adult.

Marcia stayed put together the whole time.

Here we see young Barry Livingston (b. Dec. 1953) and Maureen McCormick (b. Aug. 1956):



Interesting seeing them together, as while Barry was so young at the time, Maureen was significantly younger yet in her sole M3S appearance.

Claire Wilcox (b. July 1955) played the other girl in this episode; she would return a couple of times as different characters, most notably in the next season, when Charley dates her character's grandmother -- to the chagrin of she and Ernie. Claire & Barry:

Another cute kid from around that time was in a late season 9 (I think) episode. In it Ernie likes a girl who dislikes him, and another girl, Iris, likes him but he has not time for her. Without checking I wonder if one of them is Julia Benjamin.

No need to wonder. I'm surprised by your uncertainty, maybe you were not impressed with my 2 entire threads based on that very S9 episode "Ernie Is Smitten" (1969) with Julia Benjamin (as Margaret) -- who had previously joined the cast of Hazel for what proved to be its final season -- but in fairness, I did not state her name in my photo-montages:

Anyway, I see that Julia was not included in the credits back when she appeared as another character in Season 7, so I'll have to try to get an image from that appearance.

Well, that's pretty shameful of me! I even made a post and still forgot. And it was only a few months back, too!

My apologies, I didn't want to make you feel bad in any way, I just thought you would've remembered it was Julia -- as you knew her so well from Hazel. In the time that passed following the end of Hazel, her appearance didn't seem to change drastically aside from her growing, obviously, as we'd expect -- but in a few of the images I posted, we saw that her hair had become very long. Ernie's attraction was warranted!

I wanted to post a couple of images of Claire Wilcox from her Season 11 appearance. Here we see that she's growing into a very lovely young woman:





If I were able to interview Barry Livingston, I would ask him about these young ladies (and also S11's Brooke "Debbie" Bundy and S8's Lisa "Lisa Wong" Fong): Was there real-life attraction on his part, or from any of them? I'd like to explore which of them would've been ideal for Ernie to marry. Claire is a definite candidate, such a cute couple!
