Question Complete Box Set?

Didn't I hear about a complete box set at one point?
I thought it was last Spring I heard about it or something.
Or did they ditch that idea?

Thanks!

You did hear about that awhile back. It caused quite a stir around here (and other places) b/c fans were annoyed at being asked to re-buy S1-4 in order to get the rest. There were some negative reviews posted on Amazon, and eventually Fox cancelled the release. Whether or not the reviews were actually the cause is a matter of debate, but it doesn't really matter now. I'm just glad things turned out the way they did. There's been some speculation about a complete series coming out AFTER all 7 seasons are out, but no official announcement or anything. If it does happen, at least fans will have a choice as to whether to buy it or individual seasons.

OKay, thank you, Kristen.
I think I did see a link on Amazon.

I asked b/c I needed to know for a possible Christmas gift. But I figured it out and what I got for this person is already under the tree, lol.

I haven't heard anything more about a complete set myself. So who knows?

I have been thinking about a complete series set of The Mary Tyler Moore Show for some time. Now that all seven seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show have been released on DVD, should a complete series box-set be under consideration for release within the next few years? Who should release such a set, Fox Home Entertainment or Shout Factory? Also, should TMTMS be released on Blu-Ray Disc like The Dick Van Dyke Show was?

Why is a box set needed when all the seasons are on DVD?

I guess for marketing purposes it's a way to make some more money. Also some folks probably hope there would be more extras were they to add any for a complete series set.

I think that has been one of the worst things that has happened to some TV fans. After buying all the individual seasons, then the whole series is released in one set.

Just like I bought 6 seasons of the Jeffersons, I wish that money can be refunded to me so I can put it toward the $185 box set that was released in Dec of 2015 lol

What's profitable often has nothing to do with what's fair and kind.

Well since my job gave me a bonus yesterday I was to buy the Jeffersons DVD for $77 off ebay. I knew I was able to get a lot cheaper than $185
