You know besides all of his struggles I think he was very mature for his age as were a lot of people then kids are no where near as respnsible as they used to be now. When I look at high school seniors now I think gee we were so much older than they are!
times are changing and i think Freddie seemed older to everyone which is probably how some of his troubles came to be-everyone thought he could handle more than he could

Yes, he was very mature for his age. I was a teenager when CATM was on & I wasn't very mature back then LOL! I see todays kids & they seem more mature than I was. Too bad his maturity hadn't kept him away from the pills. He was such a sweet boy...

It seems as if he was a "big kid" who was half-boy and half-man. As I look at his pictures, sometimes I find it hard to believe that he was only 22-years-old. I'm almost 21-years-old and people constantly tell me that I look 16 or 17.

I remember a quote from his biography in which he basically stated that 'just because he was tall and big, people would always go to him searching for answers as if he knew everything'.

I know.

Kids of today really do seem more mature (and developed) than I was when I was younger. There must be something either in the water or in the food.

I think Freddie's height played a part in the fact that he seemed older than he actually was.

Hue-mee when I look at his photo that you posted it makes me sad. Only because when I look at his eyes I know he was sick. That was around the time that he was losing alot of weight. It just makes me sad to see him so depressed. I may be wrong but, that's what I see when I see him in that picture.

Sad I agree, JennyLee....

The smile is still dazzling (and BTW at this close range you can tell his teeth were capped--but who cares? It was done perfectly!), but his eyes are no longer involved. And another thing that I think shows his decline in this picture--his hair is not as perfect as it usually was. It still looks soft and shines under the lights, but compared to how it had looked in the past, it is a mess! Sooooo sad!

I also agree with the earlier discussion that his height and the way he carried himself (combined with how the stress and the drugs aged him, and also something about the way he spoke--I am not sure what) made him appear much older. What a shame no one seemed to see that behind all that was a lonely little boy!

I know.

Yeah, although it's very obvious that his teeth were capped, his smile was gorgeous either way.

Do you think his hair looked that way because he was malnourished? You know, as in not getting the proper nutrients?
