TV Has anyone here cut the cord???

I got rid of cable tv 15 years ago due to lack of hours at work and a billing issue and I am glad I got rid of cable because it is very expensive these days and I stream whatever I want from Youtube directly to my big screen TV via HDMI cable and my new big screen TV came with tons of free channels and I am as happy as I can be.

It will be 20 years this month since I have watched cable news. In fact, 20 years since any mainstream media news.

I cut the cord six years ago. I wish I would've done it sooner.

I and my wife have not watched a television for years. My TV is my IPad or one of my mobile phones. I am happy with the arrangement and don’t need an ugly TV (and in my opinion, the new TV’s are ugly). If I lived in the United States, I would not have a TV much less a TV service. Again, in my opinion, my parents had ATT and I disliked if. Way way way too many channels to the point where I would have to write the channels down and the show that is on them (like Ch.323-Seinfeld). Or ATT getting in some asinine dispute with a local network channel and barring being able to view it.

The future to me at least is Wifi and rhe internet.

I have said before that I use websites that I can watch new TV series and classic shows if I wish. I usually watch YouTube. I just don’t have any interest in current TV series or Hollywood movies.

Yeah I dropped DirecTV around 2018 due to hiking prices and bought a Roku device that opened up a myriad of free movies and TV shows.

I'm nine years past it now. Have most of the retro channels, a Roku with Pluto TV, and usually subscribe to one streaming service. What I don't have is the equivalent of a DVR, last I checked it seemed necessary to connect to my computer or subscribe to something, which seemed a bit much to record Dobie Gillis overnight and play it the next day.

Nope and not planning to. I don't wanna watch TV on a little phone or tablet and I'm not gonna hit about twenty different buttons to find something to watch. I love my TV and my dvds.

I dropped cable 10 years ago and now when I watch TV on the TV set or something online I say to myself "Free TV is great!" And it is.

I got rid of cable several years ago.

Luckily in LA there are tons of digital antenna channels with way more classic TV than on cable. Also the picture compression is better over air than on cable system. The only thing I miss is TCM but I have Movies! which shows a lot of the same films just with ads. Other than local/major network channels the most watched are Me-TV, Me-TV Plus, H&I, Antenna, Movies!, Buzzr, Catchy Comedy, Cozi, Story and Create.

I also have an Amazon Firestick for streaming and Freevee is the most used streamer.

Dropped Directv in 2018. Have a Roku TV. I subscribe to Hulu and Peacock (for Days of our Lives).

I mostly watch Pluto TV for free.

Hardly ever do I pull out an actual DVD anymore but I still have most of my collection and won’t part with it just in case I can’t afford internet anymore.

Praise my smarts, I ended watching tv in early 2017, spectrum screwed up my payment instructions and I told them to come get their black box....

I had MEGA years of good tv watching....and don't MISS it for a second now.

I am somewhat like you. I like tv and do a lot of DVR recording. I did lower my bill by $20. by cutting out a few tv stations a few retros that i like. But I really don't how to see what I like with out cable . Once you have stations and you lose them you feel a bit short changed VS not having them in the first place you would never know what to you are missing.
