A side note:
Just an fyi- The Happy Day's Binge is this weekend on Catchy Comedy, and I just read in Remind Magazine that Happy Days joins the lineup starting 1/15/24 @ 2:30PM ET, (Which now is the 1/2 hour of The Love Boat)- So it would seem there is going to be some sort of program lineup change on Monday. They probably will be posting tomorrow I am guessing

They're cutting one episode of Laverne and Shirley for Happy Days followed by an hour of Mama’s Family then The Love Boat. The only schedule change is dropping the second episode of Laverne and Shirley for Happy Days.

The tv series (Love American Style) had a episode/segment about a family similar to Happy Days tv series..and Love Amer Style will be on b4..........on Happy Days binge begins.Sooo was this actual pilot for Happy Days ? Some of the Love Amer Style might be different.But r some of the characters the same as the characters on Happy Days ? Is the locale & situation/s the same ?

I just hate that the streaming version of Catchy is very limited on the number of Happy Days episodes they have rights too and just play the same few episodes more than once. I wish I had the over the air version that has more episodes.

What’s even stranger is that the streaming version shows part 2 of some multiple part episodes but not part 1.

im watching Happy Days Season 5 right Now on dvd so much easier and u can watch any episode that you want no commercials

It appears for some reason they don’t have streaming rights to any Season 1 episodes. They stream a lot of Season 2 episodes though and they appear to be newer prints that have the original Rock Around the Clock song replaced with the more familiar Happy Days song.

You can look up Happy Days for the history of the show. But to answer your question the Love American Style episode was the pilot episode for Happy Days. Often Love American Style acted as a showcase for future shows like Happy Days.

Harold Gould play the dad. Susan Never played Joannie, Ric Carrott played Chuck. Richie, the mom and Potsie were played by the same actors on Happy Days. No Fonzie, or Ralph. It was set in Milwaukee.

Interestingly enough Harold Gould was kind of a go to actor for dads. He also was the dad on the pilot for That Girl.
