I had never seen this show until TV Land started airing it in - I believe - 2001. I became obsessed with it and recorded all of the episodes. But then, it left TV Land. Eventually, I lost my tapes and went the past two decades only being able to watch that single disc best of release and a few poor-quality episodes on YouTube. THIS is a huge deal! I hate ads, but will put up with them for this show. Hopefully, since it's prepped and ready for streaming, it could pop up elsewhere, too. Someplace without ads.
Thanks for the notice! |

This was a very funny show. Freddie Prinze and Jack Albertson had amazing chemistry together. I’m of the mind the show should have been cancelled after Freddie’s death.

A couple of days ago, I went on Tubi and found Chico and the Man. I started watching the episodes in order and they were very funny, thanks to the grouchy humor of Jack Albertson's portrayal of Ed Brown toward Chico. It was the show that put Freddie Prinze on the map but he foolishly ended his career when he shot himself in the head at the age of 22. The show should have been canceled after that. Looking forward to seeing the episodes with Scatman Crothers as Louie the Garbage Man.

I was lucky to discover Chico And The Man on Tubi yesterday and I can say it was a flawless show that deserved more mention in reruns in syndication and Freddie Prinze and Jack Albertson showed their talents on this sitcom. And with Jose Feliciano of Feliz Navidad fame singing the wonderful theme song gave it a nice touch

I may buy a second just to have as a backup. If Warner Bros. ever releases an official set, I'll buy that, too, just to show my support for the series, but if they never do, I'll be happy with this boxset. Thank you, Davey7373 for making me aware of this Blu-Ray set! Okay, I just have to say it... This set is loooking goood!! |
