Anyone know more about this short lived character played by the great Alice Ghostley?

She was in the service for there was an episode in which she played a brass instrument bugle ?? for a dedication for something . She later took up another instrument harp?? and the instructor was thinking of marrying her.

I'm finishing up season 3 and the Alice Ghostley character of "Cousin Alice" has mostly been a disaster. She possibly had a guaranteed number of episode leads and screentime. She's ok in small doses and as a sounding board but episodes that feature her are massive clunkers.

Alice Ghostley's talent was better used in Bewitched. The episodes that stuck with the goofball guys Howard, Emmett, and Goober--like the third season bicycle club--were funnier. |
